Voyage Gets Top Catering Hygiene Award

Voyage’s Catering Directorate has once again been awarded the maximum Five Star award for ‘Very Good’ hygiene from the Food Standards Agency.

The Voyage Education Partnership’s Catering Directorate provides a full catering service to all of Voyage’s academies, ensuring all learners within the Trust have access to nutritious meals each and every school day.

Catering Manager Darren Whitworth said: “To retain our Five Star rating for food hygiene across all of our food preparation and serving spaces is a testament to the dedication, hard work and attention to detail provided each day by our catering staff.

“I am very proud of my team and the efficient operation we have built-up which enables us to reach all Voyage schoolchildren, providing them with hot meals across a 20+ mile radius.

“We cook meals directly in some of our schools, and also use a fleet of vans featuring specialist transport ovens to deliver fresh food to our other academies - ensuring quality meals are available across the Trust and that Voyage remains compliant with food safety legislation and practice.

“We are also very environmentally conscious, recycling food waste for bio-fuels and undertaking plastic bottle recycling.”
