New Ideas Grow From Writing Sessions

Voyage's Teaching, Learning and Assessment Improvement Lead Rachel Sykes focuses on recent sessions which targeted writing.
"Last term, teachers from across Voyage came together to moderate writing.
"Each session facilitated productive discussions, the exchange of ideas, and the sharing of valuable resources.
"This collective effort allowed us to celebrate the progress our learners are making in their writing journeys - and provided a platform to discuss next steps, both individually and as a whole.
"We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all Trust academies for actively participating and contributing to these sessions.
"The collaborative spirit witnessed reinforces our shared commitment to educational excellence for our learners.
"It was wonderful to see the progress our learners are making in writing. The Writing Development Strategy this year, with the guidance of Chris Whitney, has allowed teachers to explore a more diverse range of texts.
"They are tailoring learning sequences to support and enhance the writing process - and this can be clearly seen.
"All sessions were a real pleasure to facilitate."
Hannah Robinson, Key Stage 1 English Lead at Park Academy, attended the sessions.
She said: "These sessions allowed teachers from across our school to have professional discussions about writing with colleagues outside of our school, which proved invaluable.
"It was reassuring to see similarities between our academy's strengths and areas for development, and those of other schools within the Trust.
"Staff returned to school with new ideas and resources."
